LESSON 11: THE EUPHORIA SEQUENCE
11.1 EASY DOES IT.
The original Kindrêd Meditation practice relies entirely on intuitive movement. Due to the present state of collective human consciousness and the cultures that shape it, that level of freedom of choice can feel intimidating to many, particularly in earlier stages of self-awareness.
The EUPHORIA SEQUENCE™ is a simplified variant of Kindrêd comprised of 5 distinct phases. The first 4 utilize structured rhythmic movements, gently ramping up to the 5th phase, which incorporates free, intuitive movement.
As each phase of the sequence can be completed in as little as 45 seconds, fully moving through all 5 phases of the EUPHORIA SEQUENCE™ can take as little as 4 minutes.
While this level of brevity is not required, it can feel less daunting for new meditators if they know they’re only doing a “4-minute meditation”.
This sense of lightness and ease is specifically why this variant of the practice was designed, so it’s recommended that you keep sequences around this length, particularly when practicing with those new to the practice.
11.2 THE THEME OF THE PRACTICE.
Another of the unique features of the EUPHORIA SEQUENCE™ is that rather than just focusing on classic feelings like peace, the practice is designed to help participants generate any feeling they can imagine.
During each phase, as the body explores the movement rhythms, the conscious mind focuses on a different stage in the generation of a specific desired feeling.
We call this feeling the the Theme of the meditation. It’s chosen beforehand or spontaneously by the Kindrêd Facilitator in group sessions, or by the practitioner in solo sessions.
We’ll explore how these themes might be chosen in section 11.5.
11.3 THE MODE OF THE PRACTICE.
There are 4 main ways that the EUPHORIA SEQUENCE™ is practiced. We refer to these as Modes.
The 4 Modes are:
1. AFFIRMATION - A guided meditation with repeated spoken mantras related to the Theme.
2. VISUALIZATION- A guided meditation to engage & involve the senses related to the Theme.
3. MINIMALIST - A guided meditation with simple transition cues between each.
4. MIRRORING - A guided meditation while mirroring a practice partner.
I’ll explain how they might best be used in section 11.5 and demonstrate each in section 11.6.
11.4 THE 5 PHASES OF THE EUPHORIA SEQUENCE.
The EUPHORIA SEQUENCE™ phases are each described in detail below. The “______” spaces represent the Theme chosen by the Facilitator.
1. OPEN — In which you open yourself to receiving _______.
PURPOSE: Consciously clearing the mind, opening a circuit of friendship with your body.
MOVEMENT: Palms up, floating a few inches off the knees, in a gentle rhythm of small circular motions.
AFFIRMATION: “I open my body to receiving ____. I prepare myself to receive ____.”
2. REMEMBER — In which you draw awareness to your body’s ability to create _______.
PURPOSE: Feeling your body’s potential to create the desired experience. Feeling its excitement to be asked.
MOVEMENT: Palms face inward, floating above the core of the body in a gentle rhythm of pulsing motions.
AFFIRMATION: “I am aware of my body’s ability to make ____. I can feel my body is excited to create ____.”
3. CREATE — In which you feel your body generating the vibration / energy / experience of _______.
PURPOSE: Signaling your body to create the chosen theme. Filling the body until it overflows with your creation.
MOVEMENT: Palms face inward, following up the spine & over the head in a gentle rhythm of lung-shaped motions.
AFFIRMATION: “I signal my body to create ____. I can feel my body overflowing with ____.”
4. EXPRESS — In which you feel how your _______ will affect those around you.
PURPOSE: Feeling how what you’ve created will affect others. Visualizing their faces as they respond to you.
MOVEMENT: Palms face upward, moving out from the chest in a gentle rhythm of large circular motions.
AFFIRMATION: “I generously share my ____ with everyone I meet. I can feel them changed by my ____.”
5. BECOME — In which you fully embody the _______ you have generated.
PURPOSE: Experiencing a full coalescence of the theme. Exploring how generating this has changed you.
MOVEMENT: Freeform, intuitive motions of the hands, body or breath, finding their own gentle rhythms.
AFFIRMATION: “I have become ____. I can feel how the ____ I have created has changed me.”
11.5 STRUCTURE OF THE PRACTICE.
0. CHOOSE AN OPENING CEREMONY
Before beginning Kindrêd meditation in any form, particularly with new or early participants, it is recommended you begin with an Opening Ceremony.
Depending on the experience or comfort level of the practitioners, you may choose to lead an Opening Ceremony only once, at the beginning of a class or session, or before each session where new participants are working with new partners they haven’t yet built truth with.
1. CHOOSE A THEME
To begin, choose a Theme for the practice. Ask your body what it most needs to feel or experience. If you receive a clear response, begin the sequence.
If you don’t receive a clear response, choose one of the following:
+ Ask your body what situation is most challenging you in your life presently. Decide what feeling, quality or character trait would best help you meet & overcome the challenge & begin the sequence.
+ Ask your practice partner to intuit a feeling, quality or characteristic that would benefit them or you and begin the sequence.
2. CHOOSE A MODE
Next, choose a Mode for the practice.
AFFIRMATION
GUIDED VISUALIZATION
MINIMALIST
MIRRORING
Speaking generally:
Affirmation is often a safe, easy way to begin with early practitioners as the clear guidance with movement and voice may lower their concern they’re “doing it wrong”. That said, the constraints that make it low-risk can also lead to lower impact for the participant.
Guided Visualization tends to be the most impactful of the 4 Modes — when it is done well — and the least impactful when it is not. Novel, intuited sensory language will capture the imagination and ignite the creative spark in participants, often feeling very personal and even revelatory. It is very worthwhile to practice this mode long enough to master it, even though its complexity makes it the most challenging of the Modes to facilitate.
Minimalist should only be used with advanced practitioners. While skilled meditators might appreciate the free space to explore themselves, it’s very easy for the minds of new meditators to wander if not guided.
Mirroring should be used often in group practice because our biological interest in each other can make it significantly easier to focus our attention as well as amplify our emotional generation.
For the best results, I recommended that you master each of the 4 Modes and use them interchangeably. This allows you to switch between them intuitively to best meet the energy of the person or group you’re working with.
Some people respond more powerfully to one over another, and most enjoy the novelty of a mix.
3. BEGIN THE EUPHORIA SEQUENCE
That’s it. Enjoy.

11.8 IT’S SUPPOSED TO BE FUN.
Though it is my hope that much of what has been shared in this course has been inspiring, empowering and helpful to you, if you were only to take away one thing from this course, I ask that it be this:
It’s supposed to be fun.
All of it. Learning, practicing, working, growing, living, loving. No matter how important the goal we’re working for might seem, if it doesn’t result in an increase in joy, I think we’ve missed the point.
Accessing joy shouldn’t be something we ever forget how to do, but a quick look around the world will tell you many of us could use a reminder. Kindrêd and the Euphoria Sequence™ have been designed as tools to help us do just that.
11.9 PERSONAL PRACTICE:
Practice EUPHORIA SEQUENCE™ by yourself, practice it with your friends, with your mother, with your partner, with your son, with the other Facilitators, with a stranger. Practice, practice, practice.
